Full Fall Ahead..

How To Build Intention This Fall

Are you excited for the sweater weather and welcoming this cozy season? Fall can bring a bit of peace as we begin to relax after a busy summer. Knowing there will be more cozying up time and time with our favourite Netflix shows.

But, for some it’s a feeling of being unsettled or unsure about what’s next? How about you? Have you been thinking, “its time for a change?”. Maybe try something new? Or “how do I get out of this rut before the days run shorter and darkness sets in?”

With each season our lives ebb and flow. Are you someone who feels excited for it or a bit unsure or unsettled as the cooler weather sets in? Maybe its the kids being back to school or you’re entering a busy season at work. Or simply you’re not ready to cover up and face the chill in the mornings.

Whatever it is, when things feel a bit uncertain, you’re feeling burnt out or maybe you’re anticipating change, it might be the right time to get a “BIRDS EYE” view on what is happening for you at this moment. Getting clear on what could be going on can help you navigate towards the things you want to create for yourself during this new season.

Here are some simple ways to get a “Birds Eye” view and build some clarity for moving forward in an intentional way:

· Make a “MORE” & “LESS” list - What do you want more of in your life & what do you want less of? Often, they are reflective of each other. By letting go of some things it may allow you to reap benefit in others.

· SCALE 1 to 10 Rate how much time you are spending on each of the items you want LESS of. Ten being the most time. And do this again for your MORE items.

· Ask yourself “WHAT” is one step you can begin this week to minimize the time spent on the LESS items you are spending the most time on.

· Ask yourself “WHY” are you not tapping into the items you want more of? Be open and honest with yourself. It’s the only way to get to the true root of the issue.

Often what we discover is our lack of boundaries. Creating boundaries so you can enjoy the things that light you up and in return have the energy to spark something within others. Boundaries are hard when you feel there is an expectation of you whether its in work or with family and friends. But studies show how boundaries increase your ability to take control, to foster better relationships with yourself and with others.

Giving back to you will give more to others I guarantee it!

So let go of feeling like boundaries are harsh, uncomfortable, inflexible and know that setting boundaries gives back so much more than they take away. It’s setting a boundary to do these exercises that will help shine a light on what is uniquely going on for you. By getting the “Birds eye” view you will be better equipped to follow through with what and why you want to create something new.

Life is busy and often we let it control us without realizing it. Its time to get you in the driver seat and create a season where you are driving not surviving the weeks. Doing these exercises helps uncover how we are really spending our time, what we really want to be doing and discovering ways to let go of some things to allow other desired scenarios to come into our lives.

Take the BIRDS EYE VIEW and see what comes up for you.

Have fun with it! You may be surprised at the outcome..
