How to Achieve Work-Life Balance This Summer

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!

Don’t get stuck behind your desk or laptop too long. Summer is here for a short time so let’s enjoy it while it lasts!

Did summer arrive quickly for you? Or, not quick enough? I’ll bet the latter. If we don’t dedicate time to making it all that we want it to be, Fall will be here before we know it. So, how can we stay on track and balanced to ensure we enjoy the next few months with INTENTION?

SETTING BOUNDARIES will be your friend. It may not sound fun, but it will bring more fun into your Summer. I promise! Here are a few things to help you do just that:

  • COMMIT TO A TIME THAT YOU WILL LEAVE work EVERYDAY no matter what. Even if you work from home. (Unless of course it is mandatory for you to stay) Trust me, this will help you be more productive naturally. Knowing you are leaving at that time will organically get you working on the things that truly matter to end your day.

  • FOCUS ON THE MOST IMPACTFUL ITEMS. there will always be soooooo much to do at work. BUT having focus on the items that will make the most impact to what you need to achieve this day or week will create better productivity. Trust me not everything needs your attention this moment.

  • STOP MULTITASKING! Studies have proven how this is unproductive and takes more time to complete things than achieve them. Dedicate time in your schedule to tackle those HIGH IMPACT items and don’t waver. If its not a high impact item there is time to do them later. OR you discover they weren’t that important after all to complete.

Take notice what you are working on versus what you need to be delivering in your role that will make an immediate impact. Often my clients are surprised when they try this out for a couple of weeks. They find they have more time than they thought!
